Nottingham, UK - A tragic incident has shaken the city of Nottingham as three people, including two 19-year-old students, were stabbed to death in separate attacks on Friday night, according to local police.
The first attack occurred at around 6:30 pm local time in the Arboretum area, where a 19-year-old male student was found with multiple stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just an hour later, a man in his 50s was found with serious injuries in the nearby Mapperley Park area. He was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and died shortly after.
The final attack happened at around 2:00 am on Saturday morning in the Lenton area, where another 19-year-old male student was found with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Local police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward. They have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to bring those responsible to justice.
"We understand that this will be a worrying time for the community, but we want to reassure them that we are doing everything we can to find those responsible for these senseless acts of violence," said Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge.
Eye witness accounts have described a chaotic scene in the Arboretum area, with people screaming and running in different directions. One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said, "I heard screaming and shouting, and when I looked out of my window, I saw a young man lying on the ground covered in blood. It was a horrific sight."
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves throughout the city, with many expressing their condolences for the families of the victims. Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Caroline Henry, said in a statement, "My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.
