Ayodhya, India: As the sacred city of Ayodhya gears up for a spectacular Diwali in 2025, breathtaking visuals have emerged from the first floor of the iconic Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. These initial glimpses offer devotees a majestic preview of the grand Sri Ram Darbar, a stunning depiction of Lord Rama's royal court, designed to inspire divine reverence and showcase unparalleled architectural splendor.
The Divine Layout: A Royal Court Reimagined
The meticulously crafted first floor of the temple is an ode to ancient Hindu architecture and spiritual devotion. It features five intricately designed halls, each serving a unique purpose:
Nritya Mandap: A hall potentially for sacred dance.
Rang Mandap: A vibrant hall for various traditional ceremonies.
Sabha Mandap: The assembly hall, perhaps for gatherings or discussions.
Prarthana Mandap: A dedicated space for prayers and silent contemplation.
Kirtan Mandap: A hall for devotional singing and chanting.

At the very heart of this magnificent setup, marble idols of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Ram’s brothers – Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan – are enshrined. Lord Ram and Mata Sita are depicted seated on a resplendent gold-plated throne, with Lord Hanuman and Bharat reverently positioned at their feet. Lakshman and Shatrughan stand respectfully behind the central figures, completing the divine tableau.
The entire structure is supported by approximately 140 exquisitely carved pillars, each adorned with divine imagery that significantly enhances the grandeur and spiritual ambiance of the space.
Sanctuary and Sanctity
To preserve the sanctity and serene atmosphere of this sacred floor, devotee access is currently restricted. This careful approach ensures that the divine Ram Darbar remains an untouched sanctuary, fostering an environment of deep devotion and tranquility for all who eventually experience its beauty.
Deepotsav 2025: A City Aglow
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir remains the spiritual heart of Ayodhya's Deepotsav celebrations, an event that draws millions. While the Darbar awaits its full public unveiling, the city is already planning for an even grander Deepotsav in 2025. This year's festivities, scheduled from 18 to 20 October, will culminate in the main Deepotsav on 19 October, just a day before Diwali.
Anticipation is high for a record-breaking illumination, with an estimated 28 lakh diyas set to light up the city. The ghats of the Saryu River are expected to transform into an awe-inspiring sea of golden light, creating a truly unforgettable spectacle. Beyond the traditional lamps, the temple and surrounding areas will be adorned with vibrant floral decorations, mesmerizing LED illuminations, and intricate rangoli art, ensuring Ayodhya shines brighter than ever before.
